RFPs closed for Peel Memorial Hospital Phase 2 Redevelopment project

Infrastructure Ontario announced that the Request for Proposals (RFP) stage has closed for William Osler Health System’s (Osler) Peel Memorial Hospital Phase 2 Redevelopment project. The new hospital will increase health care capacity in the community and create more services to support a robust and accessible local health system.

Following a fair, open and transparent request for qualifications process, four teams were shortlisted and invited to respond to the RFP in October 2024.

The following teams submitted their proposals by the deadline:

  • Progress Peel Health Solutions
  • Pomerleau Inc.
  • EllisDon Corporation
  • Bird Design-Build Construction Inc.

IO and Osler will evaluate the proposals and the top-ranked team will enter into a Development Phase Agreement with IO and Osler. Once the Development Phase concludes, a final contract is expected to be awarded.

William Osler Health System’s (Osler) Peel Memorial Hospital Phase 2 Redevelopment project is located in Brampton and will be connected to the existing Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness (Peel Memorial). The new Peel Memorial Phase 2 facility will increase health care capacity in the community and address the significant need for more specialized care for patients requiring longer hospital stays before they can safely return home or to additional care in the community. The new facility will create more services for our fast-growing communities, supporting a robust and accessible local health system.

The redevelopment project features include:

  • 250 inpatient beds with the space to build more in the future
  • New and enhanced Mental Health and Addictions programs
  • New and enhanced services for seniors, including dementia care
  • Rehabilitation and Complex Continuing Care
  • Inpatient and Outpatient Dialysis
  • New and enhanced outpatient clinics and services
  • 24/7 Emergency Department
