NL to replace North River Bridge in Clarke’s Beach

A contract valued at approximately $3.7 million has been awarded by the government of Newfoundland and Labrador to Complete Concrete Solutions to replace the North River Bridge on Route 70 in the Town of Clarke’s Beach.

The contract includes work to construct a new bridge and a temporary road diversion around the bridge while work is ongoing, install rip rap and gabion walls, and regrade and pave Route 70.

The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure anticipates construction starting this fall and being completed in 2022.

“Investments in highway infrastructure are investments in communities,” said Elvis Loveless, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure. “By replacing the North River Bridge, our government is securing the transportation link through this region with a wider, modern bridge to manage potential heavy water levels.”
