Infrastructure Ontario Loans support community infrastructure

Infrastructure Ontario (IO) continues to support municipalities and other eligible public sector partners in their work to improve the quality of life in their communities by providing affordable, long-term financing for infrastructure development and renewal.

IO has entered into new commitments to provide financing through its Loan Program to three eligible organizations.

The eligible organizations are:

Township of Frontenac Islands, for a road grader – $327,546 loan

Town of New Tecumseth, for a water pipeline – $9.5 million loan

City of Thunder Bay, for multiple projects, including municipal fleet replacement, fuel tank replacement, fire rescue vehicles, storm sewers, public park renewals, rehabilitation of a bridge, pavement and sidewalk, traffic and street lighting, leachate treatment capabilities at its landfill site, water main replacement, sewer rehabilitation, and a water pollution control plant upgrade – $18,016,900 loan

With more than 440 public-sector clients, the Loan Program has helped finance various types of infrastructure projects such as the construction of roads, bridges, arena complexes and long-term care homes, and the acquisition and installation of capital assets like fire trucks and energy-efficient lighting.
