Minister of Transport Marc Garneau has announced several reappointments in the transportation sector. The appointees come from diverse backgrounds, with experience in a number of fields, and are active members of their communities. They bring a wide array of knowledge and senior executive and corporate governance expertise to their transportation positions.

Canadian Transportation Agency

  • Scott Hugh Streiner (Ottawa, Ontario) reappointed as Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer for a term of one year

Canadian Air Transport Security Authority

  • Michael Saunders (Ottawa, Ontario) reappointed as Chief Executive Officer for a term of one year

St. John’s Port Authority

  • Beth Maureen McGrath (St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador) reappointed as director for a term of three years

Saint John Port Authority

  • Donna Redmond Gates (Quispamsis, New Brunswick) reappointed as director for a term of three years

Montréal Port Authority

  • Nathalie Pilon (Montréal, Quebec) reappointed as director for a term of three years
  • Hélène Lauzon (Montréal, Quebec) reappointed as director for a term of three years

Thunder Bay Port Authority

  • Charla Gwendolyn Robinson (Thunder Bay, Ontario) reappointed as director for a term of three years
  • Dianne Elizabeth Miller (Lake Country, British Columbia) reappointed as the federal director for a term of three years

Pacific Pilotage Authority

  • Lorraine S. Cunningham (Vancouver, British Columbia) reappointed as part-time Chairperson for a term of four years and four months
  • Peter Goodwin Bernard, Q.C. (North Vancouver, British Columbia) reappointed as member for a term of three years

“I am pleased to announce that these highly qualified Canadians will continue to serve in the transportation sector. Their reappointments will ensure continued good governance and continued success for these organizations,” Garneau said.

These reappointments were based on assessment of their performance in office and the governance needs of the organization.

The Minister of Transport is responsible for appointments to 53 portfolio organizations, which include:

  • 8 Crown corporations;
  • 4 administrative tribunal/agencies;
  • 21 Canadian Airport Authorities;
  • 17 Canada Port Authorities; and
  • 3 shared governance organizations.
