I've been working on urban sustainability for close to a decade now and I'm constantly struck by how quickly the field is changing and evolving. During that time I've done research and consulting in North America, Europe, and Africa. I am currently based at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where I am running an international study of what it takes to mainstream and implement urban climate response strategies. I am also the Research Director for Sustainable Cities International, one of the oldest internationally active non-profits focused on urban sustainability. I coordinate a team of talented young researchers who are working on issues ranging from disaster risk management to urban agriculture. When I am not out investigating new developments in urban sustainability, I split my time between Montreal and Cambridge. I blog regularly a openalex.blogspot.com.
