Ontario seeking input on Greater Golden Horseshoe transportation

Posted on October 24, 2017

Ontario is seeking public input on a long-term plan to modernize the transportation system in the Greater Golden Horseshoe (GGH) region, to ensure people and goods are able to move throughout the region with greater ease.

The GGH Transportation Plan is an initiative that will build on short- and medium-term projects, such as GO Regional Express Rail, to create the next-generation transportation system in the GGH.

With a growing economy and more people moving to the region, this multi-year plan will look ahead to ensure Ontario’s transportation system is ready to address challenges such as climate change, while leveraging the benefits of new technologies, such as automated vehicles.

The province is seeking public input on a draft set of long-term goals and objectives for the GGH Transportation Plan. The input collected in through this consultation will inform the development of transportation options for the way people and goods move throughout the region. Throughout the project, residents, businesses and other organizations will have opportunities to have their say in developing a transportation system that reflects their needs.

Those interested in sharing their feedback on the draft long-term goals and objectives can fill out an online survey until Dec. 23, 2017.
