The Kallang River at Bishan Park project in Singapore officially opened on March 17. Once a linear concrete drainage channel, the space has been transformed into a natural river landscape.

A product of the Active, Beautiful and Clean (ABC) Waters Programme, the park was a significant milestone for the design and construction team of CH2M Hill and  Atelier Dreiseitl. It touts an integrated approach to waterway management that incorporates engineering, science, landscape design, the behavioral framework of urban design, and a commitment to community involvement. According to CH2M Hill, the river is now teeming with life  and reports a 30 per cent increase in biodiversity.
